Interview with Gemma Hayes at the Jericho Tavern in Oxford

Here’s a great video of Gemma Hayes being interviewed by a guy called Tim Bearder at the Jericho Tavern in Oxford. Gemma talks about what she’s been up to since the pair last met in 2002!

She talks about the randomness of Los Angeles (tiny dogs, fake boobs, male facelifts), going swimming in armbands, and her desire to appear as an extra on Coronation Street!

Gemma Hayes gets engaged?

Gemma Hayes played a set at the Mercury Lounge in New York on Monday night (22nd September), and photos from the gig possibly show Gemma sporting a ring on her engagement finger on her left hand….

Gemma Hayes supporting Joe Jackson on US tour

Gemma Hayes has announced details of four shows supporting Joe Jackson in the USA, starting in San Francisco on Wednesday 15th October 2008:

15th Oct – Warfield Theatre, San Francisco, CA
17th Oct – The Grove, Anaheim, CA
18th Oct – Ovation @ Green Valley Resort, Las Vegas, NV
21st Oct – Boulder Theatre, Boulder, CO

Meanwhile, Gemma is releasing her album ‘The Hollow Of Morning’ in the States on 30th September via Second Motion Records and will be playing a few shows next week in New York and Boston to coincide with the record’s release:

Gemma Hayes covers Broken Social Scene in Oxford

Gemma has been covering the Kevin Drew (of Broken Social Scene fame) song ‘TBTF’ on her tour around the UK last week. Here’s a YouTube video below of her playing it at the Jericho Tavern in Oxford (on Wednesday 10th September 2008). As the video poster ‘seajohnster’ notes Gemma wrongly introduces the tune as ‘Farewell To The Pressure Kids’ (which is on the same Spirit If… album):
