Gemma Hayes to play London show next month?

Apologies for the lack of updates. I’ll be working on getting this fansite back and running to coincide with Gemma’s new album this year (2012!)

Just spotted on Twitter this evening a mention of a new show in London from Gemma’s Twitter (@gemma_hayes) – in response to @lucyrobertsonX‘s Tweet:

Can’t see it listed yet on the Paradise Club’s website, but the venue is located at 19 Kilburn Lane, Kensal Green, London, W10 4 AE

Also, if you live in Ireland, Gemma has two shows lined up:

11th Feb at INEC, Killarney (originally scheduled for 3rd Dec 2011. Original Tickets Valid. Over 18′s – ID Required). Tickets 17.65 euros via

Gemma will also be playing in Cork, Ireland at Cyprus Avenue on Saturday 18 February 2012

February 2012
11.02.2012 INEC – Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney, Co. Kerry, Ireland
18.02.2012 Cyprus Avenue, Cork, Ireland
21.02.2012 London Paradise Club, England

Keep an eye on the tour dates section of Gemma’s official site:

Here’s a quick round up of the news we missed:

Gemma posted an update to her site back in October 2011:

Hello to everyone,

Sorry it’s been so long since I checked in. I hope life is good with you all. It was an absolute blast promoting my album around Ireland over the summer. So many people came out to support me and for that I thank you sincerely. So I’ve one more Irish tour in November then it’s off to the rest of the world in 2012. I chose to put my album out with Fulfill Records in the UK early next year. Once I know the exact date I’ll let you know. To celebrate the event, a physical copy of the Oliver EP will come free with the first 1,000 albums. No more will be made. So maybe in time it will be worth something just like a Beano comic or an antique chamber pot!

So that’s it for now. Happy Halloween lovely peeps.

Gemma played a series of gigs in Ireland last month

According to this Tweet, Gemma plans to release an exclusive edition of album ‘Let It Break’ in March.

Gemma Hayes plays new song Tokyo on John Barker’s 98FM Totally Irish radio show

98fm-logo-120x80 Gemma Hayes was a guest on John Barker’s Totally Irish radio show on 98FM this week. You can listen again to the 17-minute interview via the 98FM website.

During the interview Gemma revealed the new album (produced by Dave Odlum) was finished and is currently being mixed. It was recorded in Westland Studios in Dublin and Black Box Studios in France (as well as Gemma’s kitchen!).

The plan is to release the album on 27th May 2011 and possibly schedule a concert at The Button Factory (in Temple Bar, Dublin) to coincide with the launch. Gemma also mentioned a "20-odd date Irish tour a week before the album release".

The first single to be taken from the new album will be Tokyo and should be released mid-March.

Gemma played two songs live in the 98FM studio – Tokyo and Evening Sun. You can watch her play the new single via the 98FMTotallyIrish YouTube channel (720p HD is available if you click through):

Gemma was also a guest on RTE Radio 1 last Wednesday (16th Feb) and apparently played Oliver and Tokyo live according to her Tweet (although I’ve found it hard to navigate the RTE website to find this?).

Meanwhile the official Gemma Hayes website has confirmed Gemma will be doing a full tour of Ireland in May (as mentioned above). Other upcoming shows include: the ShamRock Festival in Cavan (which takes place 3rd-5th June) and a show at Kenny’s Bar in Lahinch (Co. Clare) on 14th April. Gemma additionally has the Craic Festival at the Mercury Lounge in New York listed on her site (Friday 11th March) – tickets for this are available from

update: according to this webpage I found via a Google Alert, Gemma will be playing a gig with Last Second Magic at Captain’s Live, Blanchardstown on February 24 (can’t see it mentioned on the venue’s site yet though?)

You can keep up to date with Gemma via her Facebook and Twitter and official site. Be sure to check out the fans forum on too.
